The school out here is tiny, just 350 students, but it has one of the province’s best music teachers, and puts on a full Broadway version of a show every other year or so. For a community with just over a thousand people, it’s a kind of coming together. Everybody’s involved, everybody’s doing what they can. I set the book in a small town for a bunch of reasons–it’s where I grew up–but tiny places aren’t as real as anywhere else, and this bath-tub is why.
