Backstage in the dark is a door that leads down into the theatre’s passages. There’s also a window which never quite gets closed… and through which anyone could peek. There used to be a piano in the far corner, and despite the cleaning I was glad to see a ladder still lying there for any intrepid climbers. There is, in fact, a sort of “attic” up above, though instead of storage and bats it houses the sound equipment and bats.
