This is an older photo of the double-front-doors–my “studded gates”. They never closed properly and so have, sadly, since been replaced by mandate of the municipality, which now owns the building.
The theatre being stone and Gothic was a bit of embellishment on my part, but John climbing across it is only part-fictional: one of the caretakers did once dangle from the top window in order to adjust the flag-holders above the old sign, which has also unfortunately been removed.
